To re-engage and provide networking opportunities for team participants, a reunion and state exposition is held annually.
Similar to the summer training conference, the TRACTION Reunion and Expo offers workshops, break-out sessions, and fun activities. All teams who previously attended a TRACTION (formerly Team Spirit) conference are invited to share new ideas, learn new programs and re-energize themselves to continue promoting safe driving habits within their school and community.
Each school attending will present their progress of their action plans and the success of any highway safety initiatives that they have implemented in their school. A “Team of the Year” award is granted to one team with the best highway safety initiatives implemented as well as a $500 grant which must be utilized to continue promoting safe driving habits within their community.
Additionally, representatives from the governor’s office are often guest speakers at the reunion and Governor’s proclamations are awarded to each team.
This year’s Reunion is scheduled for March 25-26, 2019 in Columbia at the Holiday Inn Executive Center.
